Description

Phyllonorycter millierella. This bivoltine species is native to Southern Europe and Asia Minor. It can be found in Central Europe as well. The larvae make blotch mines in the vein fork on the underside of the leaves. Usually many (5–9) larvae can be found on one leaf. Faeces can be found in the whole mine. Infestation can be severe. Heavy infestation can cause severe defoliation. It can be found in parks, gardens and arboreta.
