Aphid Prociphilus bumeliae

Description

The aphid heavily covered by the white wax. It causes severe distortions and rolling of leaves on fresh shoots. After a leaf cluster sprouts open, a white viscous fluff may be seen on its underside. The substance is secreted by the pest larvae and adults covered underneath. When touched, the aphid secrete stains the human skin with bright orange colour. Susceptible to damage are especially young trees, 15-20 years of age. The aphids are commonly found in plantations and roadside alleys.
