Mycosphaerella maculiformis
Mycosphaerella maculiformis
Description
Spots on leaves are tiny, round, with a clear pale yellow edge. Leaves are infected by spores from the beginning of June up to October. It does not cause trees to die back, however, it reduces the increment and trees are more predisposed to other pathogens and pests. Effective protection is possible in nurseries and with lower trees: to rake leaves up, burn them, and do fungicidal spraying of leaves at two-week intervals in the following year from the end of May up to October.
Symptom
Tiny brown spots with a yellowish edge on the leaves.
