Hairy beech gall
Description
Cylindrical, hairy galls, 4–6 mm in length and 2 mm in diameter, on the upper side of leaves. Several galls may occur on the same leaf. A single larva lives inside the gall. Adults live from May to June. The species is common and may disappear at higher elevations.
