Description

Erysiphe euonymi is a fungal pathogen responsible for powdery mildew on Euonymus europaeus (European spindle tree). Also attack Euonymus atropurpureus, E. latifolius a E. verrucosus. This disease is characterized by white, powdery fungal growth on the surfaces of leaves, stems, and sometimes flowers, leading to distorted growth, leaf curling, and reduced plant vigor. The fungus thrives in warm, dry conditions and spreads through airborne spores. Effective management includes ensuring good air circulation, removing affected plant parts, and applying appropriate fungicides if necessary.
