Description
Diurnea fagella is a species of moth with a relatively small size, averaging a wingspan of around 25mm. It is commonly found throughout much of Europe. This moth is active in the early spring, typically from March to May. Females of Diurnea fagella have noticeably shorter and stunted wings compared to males. The caterpillars of Diurnea fagella feed on a variety of deciduous trees. They have typical swollen legs and brown head.
