Description
Wingspan is 32–39 mm, ground colour brown with marbling pattern on forewings, suffused by green scales. Larva initially bores into opening bud on oaks, later feeds on leaves, which it sometimes spins. The single generation flies in August and September. Widespread in oak stands, in warmer regions often not rare.
