Description

A rich reddish-brown moth, wingspan 35-45 mm. Only the males have the feathery antennae which give rise to its English name. It is one of the whole range of geometer moths on oaks. The egg is the overwintering stage. In spring, the larva feeds on leaves causing damage. The single generation flies in the autumn, from September to November. In case of an outbreak they can cause defoliation.
