Scots pine aphid
Description
A black aphid, 3-3.5 mm long. In autumn females lay black, relatively big eggs in rows on the top side of needles (5-7 eggs in number). The eggs overwinter. In spring the founders can be seen on top sprouts. Later they suck in colonies on older sprouts among needles. In the colonies there are quite commonly ants using their secretion as a food source. It occurs in forest, but in the park site, gardens and in the streets on ornamental shrubs too.
