Description
The grey, about 2-3 mm long winged aphid which infest young oak sprouts in summer. The aphids live in colonies. They secrete honeydew commonly taken up by ants which frequently occur in the colonies of aphids and defend them. The sucking of aphids can cause damage to twig bark and consequent swellings. Black, about 1 mm long aphid eggs overwinter in groups on twigs.
