Description

The first pandemic wave caused by O. ulmi hit Central Europe and North America in 1920-1940, the second one caused by more aggressive O. novo-ulmi came in 1980 and has lasted until now. It is a tracheomycosis  disease with typical symptoms such as leaf withering, leaf chlorosis and turning brown, at first dying of only a few branches, and dying of the whole tree during only 2 months or up to 5 years.
