Monilia laxa

Monilia laxa

Description

Moniliosis of stone fruits affects apricots and cherries. It attacks the flowers it infects in the spring and then the infection gets into twigs and branches. The disease is stronger in years with rainy and cold spring weather. Therefore, the intensity of moniliosis varies from year to year. A glucose flow appears at the sites of the infected and healthy part of the shoots. The infested branches dry and the fruits fall off. The overall condition of the trees is reduced.
