Description
The adult is 2.5-4 mm long, green, blue metallic shiny beetles. It lives commonly on poplar leaves in spring, in May. Larvae and adults damage by feeding leaves of poplars Populus spp. They make in leaves at first small, later bigger openings. It damages leaves intensely by perforating. They occur individually but in suitable places they may live together. Several similar species are included into this group: Crepidodera lamina, Crepidodera aurata, Crepidodera aurea and Crepidodera plutus. During outbreaks they can cause also serious defoliation.
