Trametes versicolor

Turkey tail

Description

The fruiting bodies are thin, semicircular, arranged in roof-like formations one above the other, colourfully zoned. The pores are bright-coloured, tiny and difficult to recognize. It belongs to the most vital wood “decomposers”. It causes white rot of attacked wood, sometimes the rot is a straw-yellow shade.
