Prosthecium pyroforme

Fungus Prosthecium pyroforme

Description

The fungus attacks the branches that die. However, it is rather a weak pathogen, which manifests itself after the weakening of maples by other harmful factors, e.g. root rots, drought, etc. Black lumpy fruiting bodies form on the surface of the bark, later the tissues are dead.
