Description
Wingspan 38-44 mm, ground colour orange-brown to grey-brown, with two stigmata on forewings outlined paler and usually with two (or more) black spots (they form submarginal line sometimes) in sub-marginal area. Larvae live on a variety of trees, feeding on leaves. They occur from May to July. Adults are on the wing from March to May. The species lives in a wide variety of habitats, including forests, orchards and parks.
