Description

The gall is formed by a rolled leaf margin segment, situated between two lobes. Inside the fold lives the larva. Fully grown larvae leave galls, fall to the ground and enter the soil where they remain till the spring of the following year. One generation develops per year. It is common on all oak species, less common on Quercus cerris.
