Description
The pileus is 1-6 cm tall and 0.1 cm thick. The pileus surface is pale brown to rusty brown, the hymenium is smooth, ocher brown to greyish-brown. When using a magnifying glass, fine but firm hair is visible on the hymenium. As regards colour and size, the fungus is inconspicuous, however, it often occurs in row formations and in large quantities. The mycelium causes heartwood rot of dead stubs and branches.
