Description
0.3-0.5 cm wide perithecia are placed in large numbers in a convex stroma. The stroma forms round pads, up to 4 mm in width. The conidial stage is Cytospora which creates red ribbons on the bark surface at the time of conidia releasing. It is a relatively common fungus which can be found on dead branches and trunks.
