Eriophyes leionotus
Gall mite Eriophyes leionotus
Description
There are many small, round 1–2 mm long galls on the lower side of leaves. On the upper side small cavities and protuberances are visible. They occur on a large scale and leaves of the attacked tree are literally studded with them. At the beginning they are yellow or green, later turning red. The first galls are noted usually in mid April. The new generation leaves the galls and search for a place for wintering out of a leaf in August and September.
