Description

On birch leaves live several species of sawflies. Their larvae often sit on the edge of the leaf so that they hold on it only with their front legs and the tail part of their body stands out in an S-shape to space. They often live in groups. Dusky birch sawfly belongs to the commonest species. The sawflies are common everywhere in the Europe on the birch.
