Description

The adult is 8.0-10.5 mm in length. It is a colourful bug. A truly unmistakable species. It can be found in low vegetations sitting on leaves. It is common in May-August. It escapes danger by a quick jump. Its larvae live on roots. It is common in broadleaved and mixed forests, on willows in particular. In apple orchards, the adults can cause characteristic damage to the upper surface of the foliage. These typically angular leaf marking are at first greenish yellow, but later on turn brownish. There may be several hundreds such marks on a single leaf.
