Description

Garden apple slender, Callisto denticulella. Young larvae mine leaves, later they live beneath bent leaf margins, and skeletonize them They can be found from June to October in two generations. Adults appear from April to June (1st generation) and from July to August (2nd generation). The species occurs in vari ous habitats, including orchards and gardens.

Symptom

Mine on the underside of the leaf. The edge of the leaf is folded, kept in position with silk. A small caterpillar lives inside or there is a pupa. If the larva has already left this place, the space under the fold may be empty.
