Boeremia heteromorpha

Leaf spot Boeremia heteromorpha

Description

Boeremia heteromorpha is a fungal pathogen responsible for leaf spot diseases on various woody plants and shrubs. The disease typically develops in cool, moist conditions, especially where plants suffer from poor air circulation. Infected leaves develop circular brown spots that later dry out and form holes. The affected leaves often fall prematurely, and in more advanced cases, twigs may also be affected. The fungus is present in many European countries. It can reduce the aesthetic value of ornamental plants and may weaken overall vitality in case of repeated infections. Preventive measures include planting in sunny, well-ventilated locations, avoiding overcrowding, and regularly thinning the plant's interior. If the disease appears, infected plant parts should be removed and treated with a suitable fungicide.
