Description

Aphis pomi is a bright green aphid. Adults are 1.5–2.0 mm long, elongated. They have transparent wings, black thorax and green abdomen. The large colonies can be found on a shoot of apple in the spring. The green apple aphid feeds on and causes curling of apple leaves. The damage caused by this aphid can be locally significant.

Symptom

Twisting, curling or other deformations of leaves or entire young shoots. The presence of green aphids on the shoots and the underside of the leaves. Often in large colonies.
