Description
Acrobasis tumidana is an abundant butterfly in the family Pyralidae. It is brown, ocher brown at the base of the wings, dark brown at the ends. Wingspan approx. 19-24 mm. It flies in one generation from July to August. It lives in oaks. The green caterpillar lives in a spun leaf. It often spins together few leaves, where pupation takes place. Pupation can take place in the soil too.
