Description

There are felt, reddish-brown coatings (erineum) between the lateral veins of the leaves. It is caused by sucking of this mite. Occasionally, related species also occur on beech, e.g. Aceria nervisequa, which causes similar coatings along the veins, or Aceria stenaspis, which causes white small spots on the leaves.
